Kuala Lumpur, 20 Mar 2020 – Engage Southeast Asia (Engage SEA), Malaysia’s premier Reputation Management and Digital Communications firm, has appointed Rajan Moses as country manager.
Moses will lead the firm’s business development, focused on strengthening its Crisis Communications and Reputation Management counsel for CEOs and brands.
Moses is an accomplished senior communications consultant and a veteran journalist with acknowledged success in CEO counsel, media strategy, issues and crisis communications and deal communications.
“I am excited to be taking on this role at a particularly challenging time for leaders, brands and organisations. The rise of citizen movements, spread of fake news and activist shareholders have the ability to impact the reputation and influence of management and the company. The team at Engage SEA share my views on using data and digital to build and protect reputations. Together, I am confident that we will be able to build new links and strengthen existing relationships while boosting business for Engage SEA and our clients,” Moses said.
Moses has vast experience in deal communications, launching IPOs in the Malaysian financial markets, notably the IPOs of Maxis, Petronas Chemicals, Astro and Bumi Armada.
His favourite area of specialisation is crisis and issues management and media training for clients. He also worked with a host of leading Malaysian brands and government-linked companies, including Khazanah, Iskandar Investment Bhd, Legoland, Sunway, Bursa Malaysia, Lynas Corp, CIMB, Alliance Bank, Bernas, UEM Land, Manulife, Dialog, Goodyear, Usaha Tegas Group, MEASAT, Deutsche Bank and Guinness.
He was last with Sapura Energy in the President and Group Chief Executive’s Office as strategic communications advisor for seven years until December 2019.
Moses was previously the managing director of Ogilvy Public Relations Malaysia and later, Senior Advisor and Ogilvy Group Director of Business Development from 2008 to 2012.
For over two decades between 1983 to 2003, Moses worked as a chief correspondent/editor for the Reuters international news agency in the United States, Thailand, Singapore, and Hong Kong. He later returned to Malaysia as Executive Editor at Business Times at New Straits Times. He was also editor at national news agency Bernama and at The Star newspaper.
Moses is a founding member of the National Press Club in Kuala Lumpur.
He was awarded a US Congressional award – the Jefferson Fellowship at the East-West Center in Hawaii in 1983.
